Dovegreyreader came up with a great idea to have an Inner Child Weekend every month. I plan on reading Daphne's Book by Mary Downing Hahn in the 1983 edition that I remember reading as a pre-teen. When the book came earlier this week in the mail, I examined every inch of it to make sure it was the same book. It is. I had the urge to smell the damn thing.
What books did you read as a child? Have you read any lately?

Vasilly, my dear, dear, blogosphere buddy, seriously, you need to stop. I have THINGS TO DO. I CANNOT pull out all my Trixie Belden, Nancy Drew and/or Judy Blume books and while away the weekend reliving my best friends from childhood.
Okay, maybe just one...
or two....
or seven...
But if I get in trouble, I'm sending my husband your way! :)
(I reread them all every so often - last one was a Nancy Drew I scored on PaperBack Swap, yay)
I am joining in with this too. I am reading The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis today.
Aerin: *laughs* Read them! I think I'm going to go and check out some Judy Blume. Years ago I lost my copy of Are you there, God? It's me, Margaret. Then there was Forever by Judy Blume and Iggie's House and . . . Let's just spend the weekend eating comfort food and reading our childhood favorites!
Scarp girl: I love The Magician's Nephew's! Have fun.
LOL! I just saw this on Scrap girl's blog! I left her a comment that I was a late bloomer when it comes to books. I didn't find my obsession for them until I was an adult.
It's not too late to start reading children's books!
