My two new favorite words: used for crises

I was reading a magazine a while ago and came upon my two new favorite words.
Snafu -(military word.) Acronym for "situation normal, all fucked up." It's just another word to describe small crises, you know the broken toe, the stollen wallet, babysitter goes and quits on you on short notice. Incredibly disruptive situations, but are not usually life changing.
Fubar -(another military word.) Acronym for "fucked up beyond all recognition." Fubar situations are huge disasters, you know the kind that come with an implicit "get out of normal obligations free" card and often require a rethinking of where your future is headed.
Okay, so for the longest time I've been in a fubar situation. I'm broke, unemployed, and a single mother of three kids. For the last seven months I have been actively looking for a job; putting in applications on the internet, going on job interviews. No callbacks and if a company does call back, they want me to work hours that I can't. I'm not complaining, but still... So this has turned into a fubar situation and it made me realize that I need to go back to school to get my hs diploma. So last week I enrolled and will start school tomorrow going four days a week. I'm happy though a little nervous. I'm tired of lying and telling people that I have my hs diploma when I really don't. I'll have my diploma by this July in time for my birthday. Baby steps. I'm just going to take baby steps.
